ARCHITECTURE
In the early 18th century Palladian architecture enjoyed a resurgence from its roots in the mid-17th century. The description of Harcroft Hall is a classic example of this style based on the designs of the Venetian architect Andrea Palladio (1508—1580). More information and actual estates of this style can be found at the British Express website.
The earlier Baroque style of Brookfield Park, as described in Chapter 4, is very much like the actual Blenheim Palace, home to the 11th Duke of Marlborough, which is described to the reader in Chapter 24. For more pictures and a tour of Blenheim Palace, visit the website.
